{"id":682498,"date":"2026-01-08T15:36:24","date_gmt":"2026-01-08T15:36:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/682498\/"},"modified":"2026-01-08T15:36:24","modified_gmt":"2026-01-08T15:36:24","slug":"dog-trainer-caught-attacking-and-attempting-to-strangle-staffordshire-bull-terrier-in-glasgow-park","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/682498\/","title":{"rendered":"Dog trainer caught attacking and attempting to strangle Staffordshire Bull Terrier in Glasgow park"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>A dog trainer was caught brutally attacking his own pet in a park.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Christopher McIvor, 29, pounced on Staffordshire Bull Terrier named Etho in Glasgow\u2019s Yorkhill on June 29 2025.<\/p>\n<p>McIvor \u2013 a trainer of seven years \u2013 repeatedly struck Etho to the body and attempted to choke the dog.<\/p>\n<p>The violence was overseen by a couple from their apartment window who contacted the authorities.<\/p>\n<p>McIvor \u2013 who runs Christopher\u2019s Canines \u2013 claimed that he was trying to prevent Etho from attacking another dog.<\/p>\n<p>However, he was found guilty at Glasgow Sheriff\u00a0Court\u00a0of causing unnecessary suffering to Etho.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0court\u00a0heard that the couple heard yelping coming from outside their flat and went to their window.<\/p>\n<p>The man stated in his evidence that he saw McIvor \u201cstrike\u201d Etho with his hands and kicked him \u201conce or twice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The witness went on to say: \u201cIt looked like the dog was being pulled up by the head against the body. It was highly unnecessary.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ryan Sloan, defending, put it to the witness: \u201cIf I suggest that Etho was highly animated and acting in an aggressive manner at the time Mr McIvor was engaged it?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The man replied: \u201cI dispute that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The female witness told the\u00a0court\u00a0in her evidence that the first thing she saw was \u201cMr McIvor kicking the dog.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She stated to prosecutor Amy Clyne that this happened \u201ca few times, it wasn\u2019t just one kick.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When asked how the dog reacted, she said: \u201cThe dog wasn\u2019t particularly barking or going crazy.
