{"id":68251,"date":"2025-05-02T11:26:08","date_gmt":"2025-05-02T11:26:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/68251\/"},"modified":"2025-05-02T11:26:08","modified_gmt":"2025-05-02T11:26:08","slug":"bristol-school-evacuated-after-threat","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/68251\/","title":{"rendered":"Bristol school evacuated after threat"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Police are treating the threat as a hoax<a class=\"Badge_badge-link__41H_0 \" href=\"https:\/\/www.bristolpost.co.uk\/news\/\" data-testid=\"badge-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">News<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35 __className_71e76b\">Shannon Brown<\/strong> Reporter<\/p>\n<p>12:02, 02 May 2025<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/0_BlaiseHighjpeg.jpg\" alt=\"Blaise High School in Henbury\" loading=\"eager\"  \/>Blaise High School in Henbury<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">A school in Bristol was evacuated after a hoax threat was called in.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Emergency services were called to Blaise High School in Henbury, after a threatening email had been sent to the school on Friday, May 2.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">In messages seen by BristolLive, the school informed parents of the threat at around 8.45am, confirming pupils and staff had been evacuated to the astro-turf outside the buildings.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Avon and Somerset Police said the incident was a &#8220;hoax&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Officers were called to the scene at around 8.55am.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Though the threat was assessed as not credible, a spokesperson for the force said, officers helped staff members check the surrounding area and found nothing concerning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">It&#8217;s understood the nearby Henbury Leisure Centre was also evacuated.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The leisure centre said on its website: &#8220;We are pleased to confirm that Henbury Leisure Centre will reopen at 12:15. Thank you for your patience.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Avon and Somerset Police said: &#8220;Police attended Blaise High School in Henbury, Bristol, at about 8.55am today, Friday, May 2, as a precaution after school staff received a threatening e-mail.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;While the threat was assessed as not credible, officers helped school staff to check the building and grounds to reassure the school community.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;Nothing of concern was found.
