The 27-year-old will next face countryman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.atptour.com\/en\/players\/marcos-giron\/gc88\/overview\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Marcos Giron<\/a>, who earlier upset seventh seed and defending champion <a href=\"https:\/\/www.atptour.com\/en\/players\/alexandre-muller\/mp20\/overview\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alexandre Muller<\/a> 6-4, 7-6(4).<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Chinese lefty <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.atptour.com\/en\/players\/juncheng-shang\/s0re\/overview\" target=\"_blank\">Shang Juncheng<\/a> became the first player to reach all three Hong Kong quarter-finals since the ATP 250 returned in 2024. The 20-year-old hit 24 winners in his 6-3, 6-4 victory over fifth seed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.atptour.com\/en\/players\/lorenzo-sonego\/su87\/overview\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lorenzo Sonego<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Shang, who missed six months of the 2025 season due to a foot injury, will next face second seed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.atptour.com\/en\/players\/alexander-bublik\/bk92\/overview\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alexander Bublik<\/a>, who opened his 2026 with a laser-focused 6-3, 6-3 win over <a href=\"https:\/\/www.atptour.com\/en\/players\/botic-van-de-zandschulp\/v812\/overview\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Botic van de Zandschulp<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Bublik finished 2025 with a 30-9 record since <a href=\"https:\/\/www.atptour.com\/en\/tournaments\/roland-garros\/520\/overview\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Roland Garros<\/a>, according to the Infosys ATP Win\/Loss Index, highlighted by titles in Halle, Gstaad and Kitzbuehel. Now at a career-high World No. 11, the Kazakhstani doesn&#8217;t seem to want to let that form slip as he starts his 2026 quest.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe tried many things before arriving here,\u201d Bublik said of his preseason. \u201cYou never know what\u2019s going to happen [in the first match].
