Germany men\u2019s national team coach Julian Nagelsmann recently extended his contract past the 2026 World Cup and through EURO 2028 \u2014 but the former Bayern Munich<\/a> man will reportedly have an out, if a club wants to take it.<\/p>\n

Julian Nagelsmann (contract until 2028) has a release clause worth \u20ac7-8.5m in his DFB contract. The clause is valid for summer 2027. Nagelsmann will certainly lead the national team at next year\u2019s World Cup. But a return to club football before Euro 2028 is a possibility should a club activate the release clause [@Plettigoal]<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

This is an intriguing possibility.<\/p>\n

Nagelsmann\u2019s extension through 2028 always raised some eyebrows. Would the young coach really take such a long stay with a national team, after the intensity of a yet-undecided World Cup tournament? It is certainly conceivable, but the presence of a manageable release clause opens up options.<\/p>\n

Should Germany rock in 2026 it would not be out of the question to see Nagelsmann have his pick of prized club gigs \u2014 <\/p>\n
