Rivals fans are already preparing their memes in anticipation of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer returning to Manchester United for a second stint in the dugout. While his first crack at the job started well enough, particularly when he was interim head coach, things soon deteriorated.<\/p>\n

By the end of his spell, fans had turned on the club legend with the away end at Vicarage Road making their feelings clear after a pathetic defeat to Watford. Bruno Fernandes <\/a>leapt to the defence of Solskjaer<\/a> that afternoon but the damage was done and the Norwegian was gone.<\/p>\n

Ralf Rangnick delivered some home truths during his interim spell in charge but Erik ten Hag could only do so much. Ruben Amorim tried to implement the ‘open heart surgery’ that Rangnick diagnosed after Solskjaer’s first spell but his stubbornness and livewire nature brought his tenure to a premature end.<\/p>\n

Proof, if it was needed, that time heals all wounds, Solskjaer is now in the running to return to Old Trafford<\/a> to see the Reds<\/a> through until the end of the campaign. Whether his second spell as an interim can work as well as his first remains to be seen.<\/p>\n

However, if you are Benjamin Sesko<\/a>, you should be desperate for Solskjaer to come on board to navigate the remainder of the season.<\/p>\n

The world’s best striker at this moment is Erling Haaland<\/a> and it has been well-documented how much the Manchester City star credits Solskjaer for helping his development. Speaking about their time together at Molde, Haaland said in 2020: “Solskjaer and I did some practice on finishing. Not just crosses. I remember he taught me some easy rules.<\/p>\n

“The first one was one-touch [finishes]. That I don\u2019t use too much power and trying to destroy the goal or the goalie with ball. I think that I was thinking about doing that and it was something new that he told me. I trained a bit on that, but without scoring. But at least I had it in my head after that training session.<\/p>\n

“He has taught me a lot to be calm, and also be on your toes and come to those situations where the ball is coming. It is then you have the chance to score. He deserves a lot of credit for teaching me that.”<\/p>\n

If Solskjaer wants to take on a new prodigy, Sesko would be the perfect student. His two goals against Burnley show that he has what it takes to make it Old Trafford. Having someone like Solskjaer to gain advice from and ask questions to is invaluable.<\/p>\n
