However, experts argue the ruling would also cause huge controversy, such as <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mirror.co.uk\/news\/royals\/meghan-markles-lifetime-ambition-what-34235140\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" rel=\"follow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\">allowing Harry and Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, to become &#8220;half in, half out&#8221; royals<\/a>. This argument has reportedly been considered by the the Government\u2019s Royal and VIP Executive Committee, which will confirm its decision in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">But the armed police protection would be paid for by British taxpayers, something only &#8220;working royals&#8221; \u2014 such as the King\u2019s siblings, Princess Anne and Prince Edward \u2014 are entitled only when carrying out public engagements. Harry and Meghan, though, carry out no public duties, yet would have round-the-clock protection when in the UK.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Mr Eden wrote in his scathing piece for the <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/royals\/article-15445553\/bombshell-twist-Harry-Meghan-Palace-insiders-RICHARD-EDEN.html\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\">Daily Mail<\/a>: &#8220;Forcing hard-pressed British taxpayers to spend hundreds of thousands of pounds paying for security for the Sussexes would cause outrage.
