{"id":684919,"date":"2026-01-09T17:19:12","date_gmt":"2026-01-09T17:19:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/684919\/"},"modified":"2026-01-09T17:19:12","modified_gmt":"2026-01-09T17:19:12","slug":"musical-encounters-the-nen-north-edinburgh-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/684919\/","title":{"rendered":"Musical Encounters \u2013 The NEN \u2013 North Edinburgh News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/nen.press\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/scottish-ensenble.jpg?ssl=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1260\" height=\"620\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/scottish-ensenble.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-220756\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Scottish Ensemble begins an exciting 2026 with the return of our\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/scottishensemble.co.uk\/about\/creative-learning\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Young Artist programme<\/a>, helping to develop the next generation of Scotland\u2019s young string players.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Delivered in partnership with the\u00a0<strong>Royal Conservatoire of Scotland<\/strong>, each year a group of RCS string students are selected to take part in a week-long side-by-side project with Scottish Ensemble musicians. <\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The week sees mentorship meet music-making in its most dynamic form, with the group working on a broad range of string repertoire, extended playing techniques, programme curation and how to communicate with audiences.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">This year the development week will culminate in\u00a0<strong>Musical Encounters<\/strong>, an electrifying collaborative performance that sees the young RCS players bring fresh energy to the stage alongside Scottish Ensemble, for afternoon concerts in Glasgow (RCS, 16 January) and Edinburgh\u2019s Queens Hall (17 January).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Following the project two young musicians will be selected to be Scottish Ensemble\u2019s Young Artists for 2026.
