Paisley NatWest bank worker caught dealing drugs<\/a>\n<\/p>\n\n A source told The Gazette that the presence of emergency services was believed to be in relation to a man sustaining a workplace injury.\n<\/p>\n
\n Back in April of last year, we reported on\u00a0dilapidated housing that was being demolished on Waverly Road.\n<\/p>\n
\n Caskie was\u00a0carrying out the demolition of 10 blocks on the route, with a further two due to be knocked down once they were\u00a0fully owned by the local authority.\n<\/p>\n
\n The area is one of those covered by the housing-led renewal and regeneration programme \u2013 an investment aimed at delivering modern, high quality, energy-efficient and affordable council housing in Renfrewshire.\n<\/p>\n
\n Caskie was approached for comment. It is however unclear if today’s incident is in relation to the same demolition.\n<\/p>\n
\n A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: \u201cWe were alerted at 9.16am on Friday, 9 January, to support emergency service partners on Waverley Street in Paisley.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cOperations Control mobilised two fire appliances and a heavy rescue unit to the scene.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cCrews left the area at 10.37am after ensuring the area was safe.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
\n A Police Scotland spokesperson added: \u201cOfficers and emergency services were called to a demolition site on Waverley Road in Paisley on Friday, 9 January, 2026 after a man was injured.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u00a0\u201cThe 36-year-old was taken to hospital where hospital staff describe his condition as critical.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u00a0\u201cAn investigation into the circumstances remains ongoing and the Health and Safety Executive have been informed.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u00a0\u201cA cordon remains in place and the public should avoid the area.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
\n A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: \u201cWe received a call today to attend an incident on Waverley Road in Paisley.\n<\/p>\n
\n “We dispatched one ambulance, our trauma team and our special operations team to the scene.\n<\/p>\n
