When Caleb Miligan (William Ash) was stabbed<\/a> on Emmerdale<\/a> by an apparently random man, he woke up in hospital to be told that his kidney had been so badly damaged in the attack that it had to be removed.\u00a0<\/p>\n

What he didn\u2019t know was that the kidney was perfectly healthy \u2013 and now residing inside Joe Tate<\/a> (Ned Porteous<\/a>). <\/p>\n

The whole attack had been a set-up by Joe because his own kidneys were failing and he\u2019d discovered, by manipulating Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker) into testing Caleb\u2019s blood, that his uncle was a match.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Before Joe decided on Caleb as a \u2018donor\u2019<\/a> he\u2019d already drugged his brother Noah Dingle (Jack Downham) and had him tested. <\/p>\n

Noah was found to not be a match and ended up staggering through the woods in a confused state, directly causing the limo accident when his mum, Charity (Emma Atkins), swerved the limo she was driving<\/a> to avoid hitting her son.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On waking from his ordeal<\/a>, Caleb obviously had no knowledge of any of this and accepted surgeon Dr Crowley (James Hillier)\u2019s explanation of what had happened. The family were massively grateful to Crowley for saving Caleb\u2019s life.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In upcoming episodes, Steph (Georgia Jay) begins to spiral after Jai (Chris Bisson) misguidedly sends her flowers which are apparently from her dead grandfather Anthony (Nicholas Day).<\/p>\n

He wants to know what secrets the Miligans are hiding<\/a> about Anthony, but his actions cause Steph to panic and think Anthony \u2013 who abused Ruby (Beth Cordingly) and is Steph\u2019s biological father \u2013 could still be alive.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Joe sees Ruby confronting Jai about this and is intrigued. Caleb notices that Joe always seems to be hovering around and is suspicious of what he might be up to. He invites Joe for lunch \u2013 and Joe makes a massive mistake. <\/p>\n

\u2018He just wants to keep him on side\u2019 William Ash told us.<\/p>\n

\u2018Initially he doesn\u2019t know that Joe\u2019s behind taking his kidney. He really trusts Joe because Joe basically saved his life, as far as Caleb knows at this point. <\/p>\n

\u2018He knows he\u2019s started digging and he just wants to keep an eye on it, so he invites him round for dinner to scratch away at the surface and see what\u2019s going on with him. It\u2019s like two lions circling each other.<\/p>\n

\u2018He leaves his coat at Caleb\u2019s and when Steph goes to hand it to him his medication falls out of his pocket, and Caleb sees the shifty look on his face as he grabs the pills and puts them back in his pocket.\u2019<\/p>\n

Caleb decides he\u2019s going to find out why Joe is so interested in his family, and creates an electrical problem at the depot so he has to call in the professional services of electrician Noah.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

As Noah fixes the electrical problem, Caleb questions him \u2013 and it\u2019s not long before Noah recalls his strange feeling that, when he was spiked, he saw Joe Tate in the room.<\/a> <\/p>\n

Caleb starts to piece together the jigsaw and vows to get to the bottom of what happened to Noah \u2013 and to him.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u2018It\u2019s a huge violation, somebody doing that to you\u2019 Will continued.<\/p>\n

\u2018It\u2019s compounded by the fact that it\u2019s somebody he thought had saved his life. He\u2019d be incandescent with rage [if he found out] and he would want to kill him. In other situations Caleb isn\u2019t impulsive, he\u2019s quite calculating. <\/p>\n

\u2018He\u2019ll choose a moment to get revenge. But something like that, he\u2019d just go. He\u2019d fly off the handle.\u2019<\/p>\n
