Bruntwood SciTech has sold the 35,000 sq ft Manchester Science Park building to the university, which is one of its tenants.<\/p>\n
Manchester Metropolitan University has acquired the three-storey Turing House for an undisclosed amount.<\/p>\n
The building was put up for sale last year with a \u00a36m guide price. Carrick Real Estate advised Bruntwood SciTech.<\/p>\n
MMU occupies 13,400 sq ft across two floors. Other tenants include Iomart, M247, and Bell Munro Consulting.<\/p>\n
A spokesperson for Bruntwood SciTech said: \u201cWe\u2019re pleased that Turing House will now become part of Manchester Metropolitan University\u2019s estate, where it will continue to play a role in supporting research and innovation in the city.<\/p>\n
\u201cTuring House had been a pivotal part of Manchester Science Park for more than a decade, but due to its physical distance away from the heart of the campus, it has always stood apart from the rest of our innovation community.<\/p>\n
The spokesperson added: \u201cThe proceeds from this sale will be reinvested into our wider portfolio and help to support the growth of the city\u2019s innovation, tech and science sectors.\u201d<\/p>\n
Manchester Metropolitan University\u2019s chief property officer, Andrew Fallon, said: \u201cWe are delighted to have acquired Turing House as part of Manchester Met\u2019s long-term investment in the city. We are committed to working with existing tenants and continuing the success of the site.\u201d<\/p>\n
Turning House is designed with two wings converging on a central glass atrium.<\/p>\n
Rent for the block currently accumulates to \u00a3592,600 net per year and offers a low capital value of \u00a3170\/sq ft.<\/p>\n
