While looking for nuggets of information hiding in the data, I often create a lot of charts and graphics, far more than would be of use. But I rarely delete them as one never knows when they\u2019ll come in handy.<\/p>\n

So this last installment of my \u201cYear of Royal Work\u201d series delves into a few of those creations.<\/p>\n

This year, the biggest story that came from my data was how hard King Charles III worked in 2025. Not only did he do the most engagements (533) of all 10 working royals but that was 55 more than his sister, Princess Anne, who is famous for being an indefatigable worker. While many articles rightly noted that she\u2019d done far more than the monarch in 2024, largely because of his surgery and cancer treatments, many of those pieces<\/a> left the perception that Anne perennially finishes each year in that No. 1 spot.<\/p>\n

That isn\u2019t actually true.<\/p>\n

In fact, Princess Anne has only beaten her brother twice in the last nine years in terms of the most engagements completed. It\u2019s clarifying to see the gap between the siblings laid out in a chart (and yes, Charles and Anne are the only two working royals to have finished the year in either first or second spot since 2017.)<\/p>\n

So, here is a graphic showing the size of the engagement gap between the King and Princess Royal, with each year\u2019s bar colour-coded to indicate which royal placed No. 1. <\/p>\n
