\n\tMike White and HBO<\/a> have selected the French hotel that would serve as the primary setting for the fictional White Lotus resort in Season 4, sources confirm to Deadline.<\/p>\n

\n\tAfter a location search that is as closely watched as the casting process for each installment of White\u2019s murder mystery, Ch\u00e2teau de La Messardi\u00e8re<\/a> in Saint-Tropez has been set as the backdrop for the next round of rich people behaving badly, with someone \u2014 one someones \u2014 ending up dead. <\/p>\n

\n\tReps for HBO declined comment. <\/p>\n

\n\tFollowing Deadline\u2019s exclusive report in September<\/a> that The White Lotus<\/a> was headed to France for Season 4, attention focused on the French Riviera<\/a>, with reports of White spotted at multiple hotels in the area last summer, including Nice\u2019s historic Hotel Negresco. <\/p>\n

\n\tAs previously reported<\/a>, HBO had marketing partnership with the Four Seasons hotel chain whose hotels doubled as White Lotus resorts in the first three seasons; there is no such agreement in place for Season 4, widening the location search. <\/p>\n

\n\tAdditionally, the series sometimes uses multiple hotels in one season as was the case in Season 3, which incorporated the Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui as its main setting, along with three other non-Four Seasons hotels. It is unclear whether there would be secondary resort locations for Season 4. (There is a Four Seasons hotel on the French Rivera, the famous Grand-H\u00f4tel du Cap-Ferrat.)<\/p>\n

\n\tThe 19th-century The Ch\u00e2teau de la Messardi\u00e8re is perched on a hilltop with panoramic views of the Bay of Saint-Tropez. While not directly on the beach, the resort has its private beach club that is just a couple of minutes away via shuttle.<\/p>\n
