Birmingham City Council will grit ‘priority roads and footpaths’ in the aftermath of Storm Goretti.<\/p>\n

Work will take place overnight (January 11) after the council called conditions ‘extremely difficult’.<\/p>\n

Storm Goretti brought a rare appearance of snow to the city which disrupted travel for many.<\/p>\n

On January 9, a number of Birmingham Airport<\/a> flights were delayed as well as a significant amount<\/a> of school closures.<\/p>\n

Issuing a message to the public, the council said ‘hard-working gritters’ will be on the streets once again.<\/p>\n

On social media, Birmingham City Council<\/a> posted: “As the cold weather continues, our hard-working gritters will be going out again tonight to treat the city\u2019s priority roads, as well as priority footpaths from 4am tomorrow morning.<\/p>\n

“Our gritters treat more than 700 miles of priority roads – nearly 50% of the total length of all roads within the city.<\/p>\n

“Conditions remain extremely difficult, especially across untreated side and residential roads.<\/p>\n
