{"id":688418,"date":"2026-01-11T07:15:34","date_gmt":"2026-01-11T07:15:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/688418\/"},"modified":"2026-01-11T07:15:34","modified_gmt":"2026-01-11T07:15:34","slug":"legendary-north-london-cinema-is-closing-down-next-month","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/688418\/","title":{"rendered":"Legendary North London Cinema Is Closing Down Next Month"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Camden\u2019s Odeon cinema is closing for good next month.<\/p>\n<p>After nearly 90 years of screenings, dating back to 1937, the Parkway picture house will shut its doors for the final time on February 24. <\/p>\n<p>Beloved of Edgar Wright, Nick Frost and Simon Pegg, the cinema\u00a0is currently\u00a0operating as a 5-screen multiplex but is earmarked for demolition to make way for a new property development.<br \/>\u2018Following talks with our landlord, we have come to a mutual agreement to close our Camden cinema,\u2019 an Odeon spokesperson told the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.camdennewjournal.co.uk\/article\/odeon-in-camden-town-is-set-to-close\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Camden New Journal<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Supporting our local cinema team is our number one priority and we will be looking to secure jobs for as many of them as possible at our other cinema locations.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\"><p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">17 years ago, on April 9th 2004, &#8216;Shaun Of The Dead&#8217; was released in UK\/IRE cinemas.
