{"id":689234,"date":"2026-01-11T16:18:38","date_gmt":"2026-01-11T16:18:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/689234\/"},"modified":"2026-01-11T16:18:38","modified_gmt":"2026-01-11T16:18:38","slug":"comedian-emmanuel-sonubi-life-after-near-death-tour-gets-new-dates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/689234\/","title":{"rendered":"Comedian Emmanuel Sonubi: &#8216;Life After Near Death&#8217; tour gets new dates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Comedian Emmanuel Sonubi\u2019s \u2018Life After Near Death\u2019 tour is leaving people inspired \u2013 and laughing \u2013 proving even heart failure can give you some excellent comedic lines.<\/p>\n<p>The former bouncer has witnessed a recent surge in popularity, and in order to meet demand, has added extra dates to his tour, including <a href=\"https:\/\/sohotheatre.com\/events\/emmanuel-sonubi-life-after-near-death\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">one at London\u2019s Soho Theatre<\/a> in March.<\/p>\n<p>The popular comic takes his audience on a journey through his life, telling anecdotal real-life stories following his heart failure, delivered with fresh <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swlondoner.co.uk\/?s=comedy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">comedy<\/a> and prompting lots of laughs.<\/p>\n<p>Emmanuel said: \u201cThe show is much more about living than it is about dying.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen people message me afterwards or speak to me afterwards, people have left feeling inspired.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The comedian also shared that he feels very at home on stage, and expressed that he loves being on tour, as it enables him to widely share his comedy. <\/p>\n<p>The 44-year-old comedian had a calling in musical theatre before moving to comedy and sold-out shows has left him wanting more.<\/p>\n<p>He said: \u201cIt\u2019s been really popular and I\u2019m not ready to stop doing the show.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI love theatre, so there\u2019s something about a theatre stage that\u2019s genuinely my happy place.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe show itself is constantly evolving because something will happen that sparks an idea that I might not have thought about before, and now I go, that needs to be in the show.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith comedy, you don\u2019t know what\u2019s going to happen. You can have a plan but you don\u2019t know what\u2019s going to happen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"674\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Jiksaw_ESPoster-800x600-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-164463\"  \/><strong>Image of comedian Emmanuel Sonubi, credit: Jiksaw<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Emmanuel performed an emotional show in Basingstoke, which has been a highlight of his tour so far, as well as two shows in North London.<\/p>\n<p>He said: \u201cEnfield was very special because I\u2019m from there \u2013 I knew most people in the audience.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was the one time I got to use local references that these people will truly understand.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd for a lot of it the people that were at the show, they were there during all that went on.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Emmanuel has a big presence on our TV screens and has recently done the Hitlist and U&amp;Dave\u2019s Silence is Golden.<\/p>\n<p>His team did quite well on the Hitlist but said the format for Silence is Golden for comedians is soul destroying, as audience members are told not to laugh at jokes.<\/p>\n<p>Like most comedians Emmanuel has a pre-show routine and starts on the way to the venue.<\/p>\n<p>He said: \u201cSometimes it could be a musical theatre playlist and I\u2019ll sing along in the car on the way there.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNormally I would listen to early 2000s rap is my warm up on the way to the show.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut I think this one is more getting your mind right and ready to be able to do the show.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/800x600.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-164461\"  \/><strong>Image of comedian Emmanuel Sonubi, credit: Jiksaw<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Live At The Apollo star is known for his relaxed, flowing storytelling style, and Sonubi believes delivery is everything to make his audiences laugh.<\/p>\n<p>He said: \u201cThe narrative takes that, what feels, what feels right goes in.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou can make anything funny.
