Since the start of 2025, multiple retailers have closed their stores across Glasgow.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Popular brands, including Timberland and Michael Kors, are among several firms which have shut their shops in the city.<\/p>\n

World-renowned fashion brand Michael Kors mysteriously closed its shop at 34 Buchanan Street<\/a> recently.<\/p>\n

The designer brand confirmed to the Glasgow Times<\/strong> that its store on the city’s Style Mile is ‘currently closed’.<\/p>\n

Following its closure, the Michael Kors shop in the city centre had its windows covered up and its signage removed.<\/p>\n

The retailer said:\u00a0“At Michael Kors, we are constantly evolving and expanding, exploring new opportunities to better serve our customers.<\/p>\n

“As part of this strategy, we occasionally make adjustments to our store locations in order to optimise the shopping experience and continue providing the high level of quality and service we are known for.”<\/p>\n

Popular clothing retailer size? suddenly closed its Glasgow city centre<\/a> store earlier this year.<\/p>\n

The brand shut its shop on Royal Exchange Square on Saturday, January 18. A sign on the store’s window revealed the closure. Following the news, devastated punters expressed their sadness about it.<\/p>\n

One person said: “Sad to see this, always loved size?.”<\/p>\n

A second chimed: “The end of an era.”<\/p>\n

(Image: Newsquest) Specialist outdoor clothing retailer, Blacks, is another firm that has shut its shop in Glasgow this year.<\/p>\n

The brand revealed it would be closing down its Argyle Street venue in January earlier this year.<\/p>\n

A sign on the store’s window announced the news. It said:\u00a0“Closing down.”<\/p>\n

However, the brand later revealed the store would be converted into a GO Outdoors Express shop in May 2025.<\/p>\n

Announcing the news, JD Outdoor, which owns both Blacks and GO Outdoors, revealed that all Blacks workers will be transferred to the brand-new GO store, ensuring no jobs are lost.<\/p>\n

The major retailer closed its shop in Glasgow’s Forge Shopping Centre after slipping into administration.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0firm\u00a0shut down the shop, and 22 others across the UK,\u00a0despite being bought in a pre-pack administration deal by a subsidiary of the founding Ramzan family.<\/p>\n

Shoe brand Timberland suddenly shut its Glasgow store earlier this year.<\/p>\n

In February, we reported how the brand had closed its shop at 160 Buchanan Street. Signage appeared on the store’s door\u00a0revealing the closure.<\/p>\n

After that, the brand confirmed to the Glasgow Times<\/strong> it made the ‘difficult’ decision to shut its store on the Style Mile after ‘careful consideration’.<\/p>\n

Homeware and lifestyle store, House Party, announced its closure in March 2025.<\/p>\n

The store, which was located on Victoria Road in the Southside<\/a>, announced the news on Instagram.<\/p>\n

They said:\u00a0“Sadly, after two years on Victoria Road, we have come to the difficult decision to close our existing store.”<\/p>\n

Foodies by SDX in Buchanan Galleries announced its closure in January this year.<\/p>\n

Revealing the news on social media, the shop said:\u00a0“We have some bittersweet news to share with you.<\/p>\n
