On a blustery, rainy evening at Pittodrie, Thelo Aasgaard steered in a cushioned volley from a corner and James Tavernier converted a penalty kick.<\/p>\n
Emmanuel Fernandez was on target at Ibrox on Tuesday and thought he had scored again, only for the defender’s header to be ruled out for an infringement on Dimitar Mitov.<\/p>\n
The goalkeeper had come a long way off his line and looked well beaten in the air but, after reviewing the incident on the pitchside monitor, referee David Dickinson decided that an arm had impeded Mitov. <\/p>\n
Prior to that contentious moment, Aasgaard – in for the injured Connor Barron – had opened the scoring on 23 minutes, touching home a well-worked short corner.<\/p>\n
Djeidi Gassama later tumbled under a challenge from Graeme Shinnie, allowing Tavernier to wrap up the victory from the spot with 15 minutes remaining.<\/p>\n
Since Danny Rohl took over in October, Rangers have the most wins (11), points (35), and goals (26) of any top flight side.<\/p>\n
Aberdeen, who stay eighth in the table, have gone the most games without scoring (10).<\/p>\n
