Emma Stone<\/a>‘s upcoming sci-fi remake has confirmed an earlier release date in the US.<\/p>\n

Bugonia<\/a>, which marks the fourth collaboration between Stone and Poor Things<\/a> director Yorgos Lanthimos, was set to hit the big screen on 7 November.<\/p>\n

However, it has now been confirmed that the movie will open for a limited run on 24 October <\/strong>ahead of a US-wide release on 31 October<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The film is still currently set to debut in the UK on the original November date \u2013 though that could yet change too.<\/p>\n

Bugonia is a remake of South Korean comedy sci-fi Save the Green Planet!, and follows two conspiracy-obsessed people who kidnap the CEO of a powerful company, believing she is an alien sent to destroy Earth.<\/p>\n

Alongside Stone, the film is set to star Jesse Plemons, who previously teamed up with her and Lanthimos on last year’s Kinds of Kindness<\/a>. Stone also worked with the director on The Favourite<\/a> and Poor Things \u2013 the latter earning her a second Best Actress Oscar<\/a> win last year.<\/p>\n

Succession<\/a> and The Menu<\/a>‘s Will Tracy has written the screenplay for Bugonia.<\/p>\n

Stone has a busy slate coming up, which includes a sequel to her 2021 hit Cruella<\/a> and Ari Aster’s anticipated new movie Eddington<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The latter is set in 2020 and follows a standoff between a small town mayor and sheriff, with the likes of Joaquin Phoenix, Pedro Pascal, Austin Butler, Deirdre O’Connell, Micheal Ward, Clifton Collins Jr and Luke Grimes also set to appear.<\/p>\n

A first look trailer for the movie<\/a> was recently unveiled, while the film is set to premiere at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival<\/a> \u2013 where it has been nominated for the prestigious Palme d’Or.<\/p>\n

Bugonia<\/strong> will be released in US cinemas on 24 October and UK cinemas on 7 November.<\/strong><\/p>\n
