Former Brisbane Broncos<\/strong><\/a> forward Keenan Palasia is officially off the open market after signing a three-year contract extension with the Leeds Rhinos, following a standout season in the English Super League. The former NRL<\/strong><\/a> middle forward cemented his spot at lock for the Rhinos in 2025 after emerging as one of the most important forwards under Leeds coach Brad Arthur<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Palasia joined the Rhinos at the start of last season on an initial two-year deal and could have loomed as an ideal recruitment for the Perth Bears<\/strong><\/a> when they enter the NRL in 2027. But Leeds have warded off potential suitors and shut down the prospect of the 28-year-old returning to Australia after locking him down until the end of 2029.<\/p>\n

The former Brisbane star endured a rocky stint in the NRL after playing 53 games for the Broncos between 2019-2023, before moving to the Gold Coast in 2024. He featured just 15 times for the Titans before being granted an early release to explore a new opportunity in Leeds and admits the switch helped reignite his love for the game.<\/p>\n

And under the guidance of former Parramatta coach Arthur, the 28-year-old shone in England after establishing himself as a leader of the Rhinos forward pack last season. Palasia has plenty of experience now after racking up 96 first-grade games across his stints in Australia and England. And he wants to repay the faith Leeds have shown in him by helping the Rhinos win silverware after committing his future to the club.<\/p>\n

“I’m really pleased to get it all sorted before the season starts,” Palasia said. “That was the main thing for me, to get it done so I can fully focus on my footy and hopefully help this club win some silverware…<\/p>\n

“Coming off the back of a tough final season in the NRL, coming over here and finding my form again has been massive for me. The success of the team has rubbed off on me, and now it’s about carrying that through over the next few years.”<\/p>\n

Leeds coach Arthur says the former NRL star has taken his game and leadership qualities to another level during his time in England. And he was quick to describe how important Palasia’s extension is for the English club, as they look to re-establish themselves as genuine Super League contenders in coming seasons.<\/p>\n
