With\u00a011\u00a0stores\u00a0in the capital city and nearly 200 across the entire UK, the\u00a0affordable fashion giant is a firm stalwart of the British high street. And while other\u00a0fashion chains \u2013 like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/uk\/news\/river-island-store-closures-32-uk-shops-will-shut-in-january-2026-122925\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">River Island<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/uk\/news\/full-list-new-look-stores-closing-2025-102225\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New Look<\/a>\u00a0and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/uk\/news\/claires-accessories-closures-in-the-uk-full-list-of-shop-locations-shutting-for-good-101325\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Claire\u2019s<\/a>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0have been suffering and closing down branches across the country, Primark is gearing up to open its first new London store in a decade.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The brand new Primark will\u00a0open inside the Wimbledon Quarter shopping centre, in the space that was once home to Debenhams.\u00a0Right now, the nearest Primark stores for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/london\/things-to-do\/wimbledon-area-guide\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wimbledon<\/a> locals are\u00a0in the Southside Shopping Centre in Wandsworth or on Mitcham Road in Tooting, but they\u2019ll soon have the\u00a0budget\u00a0clothes chain right on their doorstep. The new SW19 store is expected to open later this year or in early 2027.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Wimbledon Quarter is already home to a bunch of other beloved high street brands, including\u00a0M&amp;S, Oliver Bonas, The Body Shop and H&amp;M.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"92d02c8a-d44d-53c5-eb33-f5e534a0780c\" class=\"photo lazy inline\" loading=\"lazy\" data-component=\"lazy-embed\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/1768224735_164_image.webp.webp\" alt=\"Wimbledon Quarter, a shopping centre in London\" data-caption=\"\" data-credit=\"Photograph: Shutterstock\" data-width-class=\"\" data-image-id=\"106361822\"\/>&#13;<br \/>\nPhotograph: Shutterstock&#13;<\/p>\n<p>Robert Cragg, the head of asset management at Romulus (which owns and manages Wimbledon Quarter), said: \u2018We\u2019re delighted to welcome Primark to Wimbledon Quarter.
