{"id":691298,"date":"2026-01-12T15:17:22","date_gmt":"2026-01-12T15:17:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/691298\/"},"modified":"2026-01-12T15:17:22","modified_gmt":"2026-01-12T15:17:22","slug":"germany-orders-puma-ifv-simulators-from-knds-rheinmetall-venture","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/691298\/","title":{"rendered":"Germany Orders Puma IFV Simulators From KNDS-Rheinmetall Venture"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t<a href=\"http:\/\/militaryai.ai\/\" aria-label=\"WhatsApp Video 2026-01-06 at 04.30.24\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/WhatsApp-Video-2026-01-06-at-04.30.24.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"no-lazyload\" width=\"1470\" height=\"620\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>KNDS and Rheinmetall joint business Projekt System &amp; Management has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rheinmetall.com\/en\/media\/news-watch\/news\/2026\/01\/2026-01-09-new-agsp-simulators-for-the-puma-infantry-fighting-vehicle\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">secured<\/a> a contract to deliver nine Puma Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV) firing and combat training systems (AGSPs) for Germany.<\/p>\n<p>The deal\u2019s total value amounts to 119.5 million euros ($139.5-million), with 118.5 million euros ($138.3 million) allocated to Rheinmetall\u2019s electronics segment serving as a key subcontractor.<\/p>\n<p>The package also covers upgrading Berlin\u2019s existing AGSP development model to production standard and supplying transport containers for all the facilities.<\/p>\n<p>Projekt System &amp; Management is scheduled to deliver the first platforms in mid-2027.<\/p>\n<p>The AGSP System<\/p>\n<p>Rheinmetall developed the AGSP to train mechanized infantry at the platoon level without using actual vehicles, with networking that allows joint exercises up to the company level.<\/p>\n<p>The simulator closely mirrors battlefield conditions by realistically modeling vehicle movement, weapons effects, physical feedback, and aiming, following a \u201ctrain as you fight\u201d approach.<\/p>\n<p>Each AGSP includes a control, evaluation, and monitoring station and four replicated Puma IFV cabins housed in 12 standard 20-foot (6-meter) containers, enabling the system to be moved and fielded across different sites.<\/p>\n<p>Its design allows rapid replacement or upgrades of core components such as server racks and driver stations, while its exterior access supports easier logistics and sustainment.<\/p>\n<p>Germany\u2019s Office for Army Development <a href=\"https:\/\/thedefensepost.com\/2025\/09\/09\/germany-puma-simulator-rheinmetall\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">cleared the system<\/a> for acceptance in September 2025, four months prior to the military\u2019s more than $4-billion investment to <a href=\"https:\/\/thedefensepost.com\/2026\/01\/05\/germany-puma-ifvs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">procure 200 Puma IFVs<\/a> and a new tranche of <a href=\"https:\/\/thedefensepost.com\/2026\/01\/07\/rheinmetall-30mm-ammunition-germany\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">30-millimeter shells for the fleet<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"579\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/2025-09-08-bundeswehr-gibt-neues-ausbildungssystem-fuer-den-schuetzenpanzer-puma-frei-media-06a35258.jpeg\" alt=\"Infantry Fighting Vehicle Puma beside Rheinmetall's mechanized vehicle simulator\" class=\"wp-image-111472\"  \/>Infantry Fighting Vehicle Puma beside Rheinmetall\u2019s mechanized vehicle simulator.
