A Birmingham gang who hatched a brutal plan which saw a dad gunned down on his doorstep have been locked up for more than 65 years.<\/p>\n
Nadeem Khan had just returned from the morning school run and was sitting inside a BMW parked on his driveway when a masked gunman started shooting towards him.<\/p>\n
The shooter opened fire from the rear passenger seat of a Toyota C-HR which had pulled up outside Mr Khan’s home in Charles Foster Street, Darlaston.<\/p>\n
Initial shots from the double-barrelled shotgun shattered the windows of Mr Khan’s BMW.<\/p>\n
The gunman then left the Toyota, reloaded and continued to fire at the victim before fleeing the scene with his accomplices.<\/p>\n
READ MORE:<\/strong> Schoolboy killers who stabbed Telford man ‘in wrong place at wrong time’ finally named<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Mr Khan, who had been on the phone while inside the BMW, could be heard in CCTV footage as he shouted “I’m dead” and “phone the police, I’ve been shot”<\/a>.<\/p>\n Blood could also be seen splattered across his car, on the ground and on a wall of his home.<\/p>\n The dad, who is in his 40s, was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital<\/a> Birmingham<\/a> with wounds to his face, hands, shoulders and buttocks, while gunshot pellets were ’embedded’ into his body, but survived the attack.<\/p>\n L-R: Shamus Hussain, Mohammed Ishtiaq and Abdullah Amjad(Image: WMP)<\/p>\n Five men – none of which were the gunman – admitted conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm with intent and conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to endanger life on the second day of their trial last July.<\/p>\n They were today (Monday, January 12) sentenced for their part in the shooting.<\/p>\n In an earlier court hearing, prosecutor Darren Whitehead said the motive of the shooting ‘remains unknown’ and the shotgun has not been found.<\/p>\n Events began to unfold two days before the shooting when a ‘reconnaissance’ trip was carried out on October 9, 2024.<\/p>\n The next day, the gang travelled from Birmingham to Darlaston in order to carry out their plans but they were ‘late’ and missed their target.<\/p>\n Left: Samir Khan Right: Dilawar Khan(Image: WMP)<\/p>\n Mr Whitehead said: “Their target had already gone inside his home and so the opportunity to shoot him and therefore carry out their plan had been missed.<\/p>\n “The mission that day appears to have been called off.”<\/p>\n Mr Khan was then shot outside his home the following day on October 11.<\/p>\n Read more on what happened here<\/a>.<\/p>\n![\"L-R:](\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/1_mug__6JPG.jpg\")
