Global Creatures, the producers of Moulin Rouge! The Musical<\/a><\/strong> in London, have announced the return of their Get Technical! open day.<\/p>\n

Get Technical! Behind the Curtain of Moulin Rouge! The Musical will once again open up the backstage world of the Piccadilly Theatre<\/strong> in London, offering anyone who aspires to have a career in theatre a glimpse behind the curtain of the multi-award-winning musical.<\/p>\n

The event takes place on Tuesday 12 May 2026 at 2pm at the Piccadilly Theatre in London. Further Get Technical! events will also take place at certain venues on the Moulin Rouge! World Tour throughout 2026.<\/p>\n

Participants have the chance to hear from members of the production\u2019s backstage and technical teams, watch live on-stage demonstrations, and learn more about what goes into the making of the West End\u2019s leading musical Spectacular \u2013 from wigs to wardrobe and sound to stage management.<\/p>\n

Get Technical! is presented by Global Creatures in partnership with ATG Entertainment Creative Learning.<\/p>\n

The event takes place for approximately 1 hour 45 minutes on 12 May 2026, and tickets are \u00a37.50. You can purchase tickets here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Based on Baz Luhrmann\u2019s hit movie, Moulin Rouge! The Musical is directed by Tony Award winner Alex Timbers (Beetlejuice<\/a>), with a book by John Logan (Gladiator), choreography by Sonya Tayeh (Kung Fu) and music supervision, orchestrations and arrangements by Justin Levine (The Outsiders<\/a>).<\/p>\n

The show currently stars Karis Anderson<\/a> (Tina \u2013 The Tina Turner Musical) as Satine, and Alistair Brammer<\/a><\/strong> (Wicked<\/a>) as Christian, with Moulin Rouge! The Musical also stars Craig Ryder<\/strong> (Priscilla Queen of the Desert<\/a>) as Harold Zidler, Ben Richards<\/a><\/strong><\/strong> (Emmerdale) as The Duke and new principal Richard Lloyd King<\/strong> (The Book of Mormon<\/a>) as Toulouse-Lautrec.<\/p>\n

The design team for Moulin Rouge! includes Derek McLane (sets), Catherine Zuber (costumes), Justin Townsend (lighting), Peter Hylenski (sound), David Brian Brown (wig and hair design), Sarah Cimino (make-up design) and Matt Stine (Music Producer). Casting is by Pippa Ailion CDG and Natalie Gallacher CDG.<\/p>\n

Moulin Rouge! is set in Paris in 1899, in a world of indulgent beauty and unparalleled extravagance, of bohemians and aristocrats, of boulevardiers and reprobates.<\/p>\n

In May Moulin Rouge! celebrated an important milestone, welcoming its 10 millionth visitor worldwide<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A new Moulin Rouge! The Musical tour<\/a> is also currently playing in the UK.<\/p>\n
