A THRIFTY Warrington resident has shared her money-making tips in a new Channel 4 documentary alongside a popular TV personality.<\/p>\n
Becky Chorlton is one of Warrington\u2019s thriftiest residents, working full time as a reseller and sharing her tips and tricks online.<\/p>\n
The 27-year-old has been reselling items bought at car boot sales, charity shops and auctions and last year made around \u00a385,000.<\/p>\n
Becky, who is originally from Great Sankey, was approached by Channel 4 producers to star in a new documentary alongside Scarlett Moffatt last year.<\/p>\n
Can You Make \u00a310k in 10 Days sees the TV star try to make as much money as she can through side hustles, including reselling.<\/p>\n
The 27-year-old helped Scarlett get started by sharing her useful tips for bargain hunting and how to sell them for a profit.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think the producers had seen my social media,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe filmed for about half a day in a pub somewhere and she went away and used the tips I gave her to make as much money as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n
The 27-year-old filmed with Scarlett in August and says the TV star was even nicer in person than she appears on screen.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was so nervous, because Scarlett is so lovely on TV I was worried she might not be like that in real life,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut honestly, she was lovely. She made me feel so at ease. She gave me all her tips and tricks on how to get through it and breathe.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe actually messaged me after we shot the programme, letting me know how she was getting on at the car boot sale.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe was even nicer off screen than she is on screen, which I don\u2019t even know how that\u2019s possible.\u201d<\/p>\n
Becky told Scarlett that she uses Vinted and a livestream auction app called What Not, which can help her make around \u00a315,000 in just an hour and a half through auctioning her items.<\/p>\n
Scarlett, who is best known as a TV presenter and Gogglebox star, then went to a car boot sale herself to try and make a profit using Becky\u2019s tips.<\/p>\n
While it wasn\u2019t Becky\u2019s first TV appearance, the 27-year-old still feels that the opportunities from her business are beyond what she could have dreamed.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe opportunities are endless,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf I\u2019d have told myself five years, I don\u2019t think I\u2019d have believed myself.\u201d<\/p>\n
For those wanting to try some of Becky\u2019s tips themselves, she recommends several spots in Warrington to bargain bunt.<\/p>\n
\u201cPersonally, I love Warrington\u2019s Car Boot Sale,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI also love the charity shops at Riverside Retail Park.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think my biggest tip is Facebook, finding events and joining groups because that\u2019s how we know what\u2019s on and where it is.\u201d<\/p>\n
