A second man has been arrested after a fatal crash on a busy Bristol high street yesterday (Sunday, January 11).<\/p>\n

A cyclist was hit by a car on North Street, Bedminster<\/a> and despite best efforts of members of the public and emergency services, the man sadly died at the scene.<\/p>\n

BristolLive reported<\/a> that a man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop, and driving while unfit.<\/p>\n

In an update this morning (Monday, January 12) the police force said a teenager has also been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving while unfit.<\/p>\n

At the time of reporting, both suspects remain in police custody.<\/p>\n

Police and ambulance crews were called to the scene of a crash in Bedminster around 12.30pm yesterday.<\/p>\n

The male cyclist died at the scene. Police said his next of kin were informed and are being supported by a specialist family liaison officer.<\/p>\n

The car involved allegedly left the scene before police arrived, but an investigation was carried out and officers located the car.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: “A second arrest of an adult teenage male was made.<\/p>\n

“He was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving while unfit.<\/p>\n
