George Clooney<\/a> was ribbed over how long it’s been since he won a Golden Globe<\/a> as Don Cheadle joked Timothee Chalamet<\/a>\u00a0was three last time he picked one up.<\/p>\n

The comments came after George recently joked at a different awards ceremony for ‘old people’ that he could only win because Timothee is ‘too young’ to receive one.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Hollywood icon, 64, was presenting the award for Best Motion Picture \u2013 Drama with his Ocean’s Eleven co-star Don, 61, who delivered a few zingers at his expense.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the audience – and more directly Timothee – before announcing the nominees in the category, Don said: ‘Timmy what are you now, 29? 30?’<\/p>\n

Timothee relied saying he was ’30 years old’ and Don quipped: ‘He [Timothee] was three last time you [George] won!’<\/p>\n

George defended himself, saying: ‘It wasn’t that long ago Timothee! I’m just going to do the nominations now.’<\/p>\n

Don continued his digs, responding: ‘Knock um dead Batman!’\u00a0<\/p>\n

The remark mocked George for the\u00a0critically panned film Batman and Robin, which earned Razzie Award nominations, including for ‘worst screen couple’ for George and Chris O’Donnell [Robin].<\/p>\n

George played Batman in the 1997 film, taking over the role from Val Kilmer in the Joel Schumacher-directed sequel, though he’s famously self-deprecating about the movie’s poor reception.<\/p>\n

Despite Don’s comments, George has actually had previously successes at the Globes, most recently receiving the\u00a0Cecil B. DeMille Award (Lifetime Achievement) for his services to the entertainment industry in 2015.<\/p>\n

In 2013 he received the Best Motion Picture – Drama award for his work as a producer on Argo and in 2012 he won Best Actor – Drama for\u00a0The Descendants.<\/p>\n

The comments came off the back of George’s remarks at the\u00a0Movies for Grownups Awards, where he joked that the ceremony was for ‘old people’.<\/p>\n

He quipped to the audience: ‘The only way I can win anything is because Timothee Chalamet is too god damn young!’<\/p>\n

Elsewhere during the same evening, George enjoyed a reunion with his ER co-star Noah Wyle – 16 years after the hit\u00a0medical drama television series came to an end.<\/p>\n

They have been friends since they met on set more than 30 years ago and Noah explained how the pair share an ‘intimate’ bond with one another.<\/p>\n

Speaking to People<\/a> at the AARP Movies for Grownups Awards on Saturday, Noah said: ‘It’s catching up when we can, but always from the point where we last left each other.<\/p>\n

‘Those bonds that were forged during that show are so lovely and intimate that I feel like we don’t have to be totally present in each other’s lives to be able to have a context for each other’s lives.’<\/p>\n

The Pitt star continued: ‘But he’s been a real touchstone figure in my life and one who seems to pop up with great regularity at the right moments.<\/p>\n

‘So I’m honoured to be here to share this one tonight,’ he added.<\/p>\n

Noah and George presented each other with awards for their roles in The Pitt and Jay Kelly respectively and the former explained how he would meet with the star whenever their schedules would allow.<\/p>\n

Reflecting on their last dinner together, he said: ‘It was either here in LA at the Chateau Marmont one night when he was in between jobs, or it was in Vancouver when I was working on something and he was in New Vancouver.<\/p>\n

George remembered how he first met Noah back in 1993 as he presented him with his Best Actor award in the ceremony’s TV category.<\/p>\n

The Gravity star said: ‘He was wise beyond his years from the very beginning, from the very start.<\/p>\n

‘He was also the kindest person ever. We became very dear friends very early. We have remained that way for well over 30 years now.’<\/p>\n

George added: ‘He is a great father. He is a great husband. We all can see what an extraordinary actor he is. I’m very proud to call him a friend. I’m also proud to call him a colleague.
