A large police presence scrambled to the Clermiston area of the city on Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n

Armed police have locked down a street in Edinburgh after reports of a blood-soaked man.<\/p>\n

Emergency services were called to Drum Brae Drive in the Clermiston area of the city this morning, Tuesday, January 13.<\/p>\n

The Record<\/a> understands seven police cars including armed officers<\/a> and an ambulance were dispatched to the scene.<\/p>\n

Local reports suggested a blood-soaked man was seen in the residential street. An eyewitness described seeing a man whose head was covered in bandages<\/a> being wrestled to the ground by officers.<\/p>\n

They said: “We passed earlier. They were wrestling a guy to the ground further down the street. His head was covered in bandages.”<\/p>\n

An image taken by a resident showed three police vehicles<\/a> parked on the rain-soaked street.<\/p>\n

Police tape blocks off part of the road and a uniformed officer <\/a>can be seen standing alongside a number of local people in front of the cordon. Another image showed an ambulance parked outside of a property.<\/p>\n

A number of Lothian Bus services have been diverted from the area while the incident remains ongoing.<\/p>\n

A post said: “Due to road closures buses are unable to serve Drum Brae Drive and are instead diverted via Drum Brae North, and QUeensferry Road in both directions until further notice.”<\/p>\n

The Record has contacted Police Scotland for comment.<\/p>\n
