{"id":693211,"date":"2026-01-13T13:24:13","date_gmt":"2026-01-13T13:24:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/693211\/"},"modified":"2026-01-13T13:24:13","modified_gmt":"2026-01-13T13:24:13","slug":"could-free-visitor-parking-end-in-bristols-residents-only-zones","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/693211\/","title":{"rendered":"Could free visitor parking end in Bristol&#8217;s residents-only zones?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\"><b class=\"ssrcss-1xjjfut-BoldText e5tfeyi3\">Free parking for people visiting those living within residents&#8217; parking zones in Bristol could be scrapped.<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">People living in areas impacted by the schemes currently get between 50 and 70 free visitor passes a year and can purchase the same number as they get for free for \u00a31.30 per permit.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Bristol City Council is proposing an end to the free allocation of visitor permits, saying it will reduce short car journeys, encourage people to use public transport, and prioritise parking for residents.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The council also hopes to make visitor permits available only in batches of 10 at a cost of between \u00a320 and \u00a325 per batch.
