A man was taken to hospital after a member of the public rescued him from the water at Bristol <\/a>harbourside.<\/p>\n

Emergency services were called to the area near Cascade Steps yesterday afternoon (Monday, January 12) after a man was seen in the water.<\/p>\n

A heroic member of the public had already rescued the man before police officers arrived at the scene.<\/p>\n

The man was taken to Bristol Royal Infirmary by ambulance before being checked by medics and later discharged.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS<\/a> Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: \u201cWe were called at 15:12hrs on Monday 12 January to an incident in Bristol.<\/p>\n

“We sent two double-crewed land ambulances, an operations officer and the hazardous area response team to the scene.<\/p>\n

“We conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Bristol Royal Infirmary.\u201d<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: \u201cWe received a report of a man in the water at the Bristol Harbourside at 3.12pm.<\/p>\n

“Officers arrived at the scene approximately 10 minutes after the man had been rescued by a member of the public.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe man was checked over by medics in hospital before being discharged.\u201d<\/p>\n
