PSR is a problem Leeds United are facing in their pursuit of January additions, but signing Gus Hamer wouldn\u2019t be an issue.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hamer is a long-term Leeds target<\/a> and someone they\u2019ve been linked with across the past few transfer windows. <\/p>\n

Daniel Farke<\/a> targeted the Brazil-born playmaker as a possible number 10 signing ahead of their return to the Premier League, but Sheffield United were able to hold onto their prized asset. <\/p>\n

Leeds once saw a \u00a313million bid rejected for Hamer<\/a> in August 2024, during a time when the Blades were holding out for a key closer to \u00a320m, and now his price tag has dropped dramatically. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Leeds can sign Gus Hamer for just \u00a36m<\/p>\n

Hamer<\/a> was a standout player for Chris Wilder in 2024\/25 when Sheffield United were beaten in the Championship play-off final by Sunderland. <\/p>\n

The 28-year-old produced a respectable 10 goals and eight assists in all competitions, making him a sought-after commodity for teams in the Premier League. <\/p>\n

But despite significant interest from the top-flight and abroad, Blades fans were delighted when their midfield maestro remained at Bramall Lane. <\/p>\n

Indeed, Hamer was expected to spearhead another charge towards promotion, but instead, Wilder\u2019s men are loitering in 16th position. <\/p>\n

Worryingly, with Sheffield United nine points behind the top six, Hamer\u2019s form has also suffered, with just two goals and three assists in 18 Championship appearances. <\/p>\n

The midfielder\u2019s asking price has also dropped as a result, with Ben Jacobs reporting that only a fee \u00a36m could be enough to sell him. <\/p>\n

Trabzonspor, Sevilla and Cremonese are all keen on United\u2019s No.8, and for that price, surely Leeds should consider weighing up a move. <\/p>\n

When comparing his statistics to other midfielders in the second tier, Hamer ranks in the top one per cent for shot-creating actions and top two per cent for progressive passes, evincing his creative qualities. <\/p>\n

The former Dutch under-20 international is great at picking up space between the lines and playing through balls, something Leeds have arguably lacked this term. <\/p>\n

Question marks remain over whether he\u2019s Premier League quality, though, but for just \u00a36m, he\u2019s surely worth the risk. <\/p>\n
