Chelsea\u2019s win over Charlton in the FA Cup Third Round had the feel of a new manager trying to get a look at as many of his squad as possible.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Liam Rosenior<\/a> started an experimental squad for his first game in charge, however was buoyed by a solid performance from Moises Caicedo alongside them.<\/p>\n

Goals from Marc Guiu<\/a> and Jorrel Hato<\/a> were proof that the inexperienced players on the pitch were more than good enough for the Blues, and the boss will have been impressed with the start his side made.<\/p>\n

A number of Chelsea players who started had very little opportunity to feature under Enzo Maresca. One starter, Facundo Buonanotte<\/a>, has just 45 minutes of Premier League football under his belt since joining.<\/p>\n

The Argentine assisted Tosin Adarabioyo for his goal on Saturday, and saw his effort on target turned in by Guiu on the rebound.<\/p>\n

Journalist Simon Phillips has claimed on his Substack<\/a> that Rosenior has made an effort to speak with Buonanotte, as well as others who have not been regulars, to convince them they have his full faith.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cSPTC Sources\u00a0have heard that Rosenior has spoken to every player in his group and told them that he trusts them, including the likes of Filip Jorgensen and Facundo Buonanotte, whom of which he handed starts to in his first game, proving to them that he trusts them.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, we\u2019ve heard that Rosenior is doing this to instil a belief within his squad and get the confidence back up amongst the entire group, because some of them had lost confidence and believe they weren\u2019t rated at the club.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chelsea are still fighting on four fronts this season, with their next game being the first leg of the EFL Cup semi-finals against Arsenal.<\/p>\n

The magnitude of fixtures that are continuing to come their way is going to be testing, and injuries are almost certainly going to play a part,<\/p>\n

Reece James and Cole Palmer are amongst those who are doubts to face Arsenal<\/a>, and it is these moments where the fringe players are required to step up. <\/p>\n

The likes of Buonanotte and Jorgensen are amongst this group, and clearly having the faith of the manager is clearly going to assist in their performances.<\/p>\n
