Police have made an arrest after a woman was rushed to hospital following an alleged “hit and run” in Glasgow<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Emergency services<\/a> were called to Birgidale Road, at Downcraig Road, in Castlemilk after the alarm was raised at around 10.25am on Friday. Officers were responding to reports of a 31-year-old woman having been knocked down by a car.<\/p>\n

Ambulance crews attended and she was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital<\/a> for treatment. Her condition currently remains unknown.<\/p>\n

As reported by Glasgow Live<\/a>, police remained in the area in an attempt to trace the driver.<\/p>\n

Officers have now confirmed that a 33-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the incident. Their enquiries are ongoing.<\/p>\n

A Police <\/a>Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10.25am on Friday, May 2, 2025, we received a report of a 31-year-old woman struck by a car on Brigidale Road at Downcraig Road, Castlemilk.<\/p>\n

“She was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. A 33-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing.”<\/p>\n
