{"id":695814,"date":"2026-01-14T17:16:14","date_gmt":"2026-01-14T17:16:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/695814\/"},"modified":"2026-01-14T17:16:14","modified_gmt":"2026-01-14T17:16:14","slug":"regional-edge-returns-with-400k-for-scotlands-rural-startups","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/695814\/","title":{"rendered":"Regional EDGE returns with \u00a3400k for Scotland&#8217;s rural startups"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Scottish EDGE has announced the return of its Regional EDGE competition, giving entrepreneurs outside the central belt the opportunity to win up to \u00a350,000 in funding.<\/p>\n<p>Now in its second year, Regional EDGE awards target entrepreneurial talent in regions with historically lower levels of engagement, including Tayside, the North East, the Highlands and Islands and the South of Scotland.<\/p>\n<p>Each applicant is judged by assessing the strengths of their business proposal, including key ares like value proposition, impact, growth potential, and funding utilisation, with successful startups invited to pitch at a live final in March.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/rubrik.registration.goldcast.io\/events\/0f4394b9-57ce-4473-98f1-dc3727d846b3\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Rubrik Cyber Security Summit 2026\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img class=\"lazyload\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/1768410974_25_Goldcast-Hero-text.jpg\" alt=\"Rubrik Cyber Security Summit 2026\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Each region, led by local partners like ONE, Elevator, GrowBiz, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, and South of Scotland Enterprise, will host its own final, picking five winners to be awarded tens of thousands in grants.<\/p>\n<p>Awards will consist of one top prize of \u00a350,000, two of \u00a315,000, and two of \u00a310,000, with winners also joining the EDGE alumni network, gaining access to expert business mentorship and a wide-reaching community of contacts.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRegional EDGE highlights the incredible innovation and entrepreneurial spirit thriving in our region,\u201d said Caroline Maclellan, senior innovation manager at HIE.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt offers ambitious entrepreneurs the crucial funding and support needed to bring their visions to life.
