A 19-year-old man was arrested after thousands of pounds worth of Class A drugs were found inside the car<\/p>\n

Dramatic video footage has revealed the moment a driver took police on a chase through south Manchester before crashing outsideWythenshawe Hospital.<\/p>\n

Officers began pursuing the black Audi A3 after signalling for it to stop in Newall Green on Tuesday (January 13). The vehicle had been flagged as having no insurance.<\/p>\n

However, the driver then failed to stop and fled the scene, leading officers on a pursuit which ended outside the hospital. The driver sped into the grounds of Wythenshawe Hospital before smashing into a taxi and coming to a stop on a grass verge.<\/p>\n

The man, aged 19, was then detained and arrested on suspicion of failing to stop, dangerous driving, driving with no insurance and driving otherwise in accordance with a licence. After searching the vehicle, officers uncovered more than \u00a33,500 worth of Class A drugs.<\/p>\n

The suspect was further arrested for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs and remains in custody to be questioned. Nobody was injured in the incident, Greater Manchester Police<\/a> confirmed.<\/p>\n

DC Katie Havens from GMP’s south Manchester district said: \u201cThis arrest highlights the dangers that our Roads Policing Unit face on a day-to-day basis. They not only brought a dangerous pursuit to an end without injury but also stopped a significant quantity of Class A drugs from being distributed in our communities.<\/p>\n
