Known for his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thisiscolossal.com\/tags\/paco-pomet\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">uncanny oil paintings<\/a> rendered mostly in monochrome and enlivened by colorful details of overly stretchy limbs or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thisiscolossal.com\/2023\/12\/paco-pomet-celestial\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">celestial objects<\/a>, a sense of nostalgia greets surreal scenarios. The artist often derives his imagery from vintage black-and-white photographs, adding an absurd dimension to history.<\/p>\n<p>Pomet\u2019s work is currently on view in a solo exhibition titled Planet Circus at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.richardhellergallery.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Richard Heller Gallery<\/a>, which continues through February 14 in Santa Monica.
