{"id":696802,"date":"2026-01-15T03:42:18","date_gmt":"2026-01-15T03:42:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/696802\/"},"modified":"2026-01-15T03:42:18","modified_gmt":"2026-01-15T03:42:18","slug":"france-bans-10-uk-anti-immigration-activists-for-property-destruction-jurist","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/696802\/","title":{"rendered":"France bans 10 UK anti-immigration activists for property destruction &#8211; JURIST"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>French Interior Minister Laurent Nu\u00f1ez <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/NunezLaurent\/status\/2011364709287571702\">announced<\/a> on Wednesday that\u00a0the country has banned 10 British activists who attempted to stop UK-bound migrants from leaving French beaches by destroying small boats.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Interior Ministry clarified in a press release that the ban applies to 10 far-right activists from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?client=safari&amp;rls=en&amp;q=raise+the+colours&amp;ie=UTF-8&amp;oe=UTF-8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Raise the Colours<\/a> movement, which calls for an end to irregular migration from France to the UK. These individuals, accused of destroying small boats and propagandizing along the coastline of France\u2019s Nord and Pas-de-Calais regions, will no longer be able to enter or reside in France.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Nu\u00f1ez stated that France\u2019s \u201crule of law is non-negotiable; actions of a violent nature or those that incite hatred have no place on our territory.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, the Raise the Colours\u2019 website states that they are a lawful civic movement that does not \u201cencourage, endorse or support anyone travelling to France, approaching migrant vessels, or attempting to intervene in crossings.\u201d Instead, the movement claims its goal is to keep the British government accountable for funds disbursed to France to aid in anti-migration efforts.<\/p>\n<p>A UK Home Office <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/migrants-detected-crossing-the-english-channel-in-small-boats\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">report<\/a> updated Wednesday notes that over 41,000 UK-bound people crossed the English Channel using small boats in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Amid rising tensions surrounding immigration and a backlog of asylum claims, the UK government has been trying to reduce overall migration by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jurist.org\/news\/2025\/05\/uk-announces-new-reforms-to-immigration-with-focus-on-reducing-abuse\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announcing<\/a> new reforms, stricter requirements for citizenship, and tougher measures for removal. The government has since published <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/asylum-and-returns-policy-statement\/restoring-order-and-control-a-statement-on-the-governments-asylum-and-returns-policy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">policies<\/a> in November to reduce the incentives for irregular migrants to come to the UK.
