Leeds United<\/a> could gain some valuable cash to boost their PSR headroom this week through a lucrative sell-on clause inserted in a previous sale.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Whites\u2019 transfer business is yet to get going<\/a>. Fans are understandably wondering if the club will kick on and make the signing(s) required to ensure Premier League safety.<\/p>\n

To do that, Leeds will probably have to clear room both in our 25-man squad, but also regarding PSR calculations<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Leeds United hold sell-on clause in Charlie Cresswell\u2019s Toulouse contract<\/p>\n

Having left Leeds back in the summer of 2024 for \u00a33.8million<\/a>, Charlie Cresswell<\/a> is having a storming time at Ligue 1 side Toulouse. Ironically as an integral part of their back three, he\u2019s proving to be hot property during the 25\/26 campaign.<\/p>\n

Links to Como and West Ham<\/a> were rife back in the summer, and the centre-back could be on the radar of our relegation rivals again this month. The Irons have already headed towards \u00a350million spent<\/a> with two striker additions, but their defence needs serious work.<\/p>\n

Should the Irons, or anyone in fact, look to sign the Thorp Arch academy graduate, a significant portion of the sum will head to Elland Road.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s because it was reported back in the summer that Leeds included a sell-on clause<\/a>. That clause entitles United to 15% of any profit made by Toulouse on his sale. For example, if Cresswell were to leave Toulouse for \u00a320million, Leeds would receive \u00a32.4million \u2013 a higher fee would of course bring even more.<\/p>\n

Wolfsburg in \u201cconcrete negotiations\u201d to sign Charlie Cresswell as Leeds United await clause windfall<\/p>\n

Now, Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg<\/a> reports that Cresswell is the subject of \u201cconcrete\u201d talks between Toulouse and Bundesliga side Wolfsburg.<\/p>\n

The England U21 international is now seen as an alternative to Brentford\u2019s Kristoffer Ajer, while Wolfsburg have not made any progress on Union Berlin\u2019s Danilho Doekhhi<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Cresswell still has two-and-a-half years on his contract with the French club. So, it leaves them likely to require a significant fee to tempt Toulouse into selling mid-season<\/p>\n

Should this transfer materialise, Leeds are in line for a major windfall that would help finance a January spend.<\/p>\n

Leeds United\u2019s January spending could be massively boosted by shrewd Charlie Cresswell clause<\/p>\n

If I were to predict, I\u2019d be surprised if Toulouse sell Cresswell mid-season. Unless someone pays an enormous fee, that is.<\/p>\n

That being said, his sale would be great for us in the back end of this window. Every little helps right now. And, given we\u2019re so close to the PSR threshold, that extra couple of million pounds would be vital.<\/p>\n

Even if it helps Leeds land another loan signing for the rest of the season, that might be the difference between staying up and being dragged back towards the bottom three.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s remarkable to see how well Cresswell has fared over in France after limited opportunities. I\u2019d anticipate that a move isn\u2019t far away, even if Wolfsburg don\u2019t agree a deal.<\/p>\n
