Police Scotland<\/a> has issued an update this morning, January 15, after a street in the north of Glasgow was evacuated following a report of a possible chemical leak.<\/p>\n

Emergency services were dispatched to Killearn Street in Possilpark<\/a> at around 5.50pm on Wednesday, January 14. Images shared with Glasgow Live show police officers and fire crews on scene, with a cordon erected.<\/p>\n

Nearby properties were evacuated for a short time as a precaution and one person received treatment at the scene, police confirmed.<\/p>\n

Following enquiries, it was established there was no chemical leak and no risk to the wider public. Residents were able to return to their homes in the evening.<\/p>\n

In an update this morning, a spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Around 5.50pm on Wednesday, 14 January, 2026, we received a report of a possible chemical leak at a property in Killearn Street.<\/p>\n

“Emergency services attended and nearby properties were evacuated for a short time as a precaution and one person received treatment at the scene.<\/p>\n

“Enquiries were carried out and it was established there was no chemical leak.
