{"id":697953,"date":"2026-01-15T15:54:18","date_gmt":"2026-01-15T15:54:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/697953\/"},"modified":"2026-01-15T15:54:18","modified_gmt":"2026-01-15T15:54:18","slug":"dutch-far-right-activist-cant-visit-britain-without-a-visa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/697953\/","title":{"rendered":"Dutch far-right activist &#8220;can&#8217;t visit Britain without a visa&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"87\">A far-right Dutch commentator and activist claimed this week she had been banned from entering Britain because her electronic permit had been withdrawn.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"89\" data-end=\"265\">Eva Vlaardingerbroek posted a photograph online of what appeared to be an email from the British government stating that her ETA to enter the UK had been removed.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"267\" data-end=\"410\">\u201cYour presence in the UK is not considered to be conducive to the public good,\u201d the note said. \u201cThis means you cannot travel to the UK without a visa.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"267\" data-end=\"410\">The message has not been independently verified although the Independent news website said its sources had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/news\/uk\/home-news\/grok-starmer-elon-musk-eva-vlaardingerbroek-ban-b2900753.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">confirmed the email<\/a> was real. The right-wing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-15465965\/Dutch-activist-barred-Britain-criticising-Sir-Keir-Starmer-Anti-migrant-commentator-told-visit-not-conducive-public-good.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Daily Mail, however, <\/a>said the Home Office declined to comment on the case and a department source \u201cinsisted Ms Vlaardingerbroek is not banned from the UK\u201d.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"267\" data-end=\"410\">British <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/suitability-non-conducive-grounds-for-refusal-or-cancellation-of-entry-clearance-or-permission\/suitability-non-conducive-grounds-for-refusal-or-cancellation-of-entry-clearance-or-permission-accessible\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">government guidelines<\/a> state that someone can be considered not to be conducive to the public good if \u201cit is undesirable to admit the person to the UK, based on their character, conduct, or associations because they pose a threat to UK society. This applies to conduct both in the UK and overseas.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"412\" data-end=\"554\">Vlaardingerbroek, a former member of Dutch far right party Forum voor Democratie, linked the ban to recent comments she had made about British prime minister Keir Starmer, whom she described as an \u201cevil, despicable man\u201d.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"556\" data-end=\"731\">Vlaardingerbroek was last in Britain in September, when she spoke at a far-right rally in London organised by activist Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, who uses the name Tommy Robinson.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"733\" data-end=\"920\">In a social media post, she said she had been planning to travel to Britain in May to speak at another rally and that the email about the withdrawal of her ETA had come \u201cout of the blue\u201d. An ETA, a travel document for people from the EU visiting Britain for short periods, is valid for six months.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"922\" data-end=\"1093\">Rupert Lowe, a British anti-immigration MP, said he would ask why the Dutch activist had been prevented from entering Britain and would call for any such decision to be reversed.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1095\" data-end=\"1290\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Dutch News has also asked the British government to comment on the ban.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1095\" data-end=\"1290\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Dutch far-right party leader Geert Wilders was banned from entering Britain in 2009.
