{"id":698329,"date":"2026-01-15T19:49:14","date_gmt":"2026-01-15T19:49:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/698329\/"},"modified":"2026-01-15T19:49:14","modified_gmt":"2026-01-15T19:49:14","slug":"tour-de-france-2027-routes-revealed-with-starts-in-edinburgh-and-leeds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/698329\/","title":{"rendered":"Tour de France 2027 routes revealed with starts in Edinburgh and Leeds"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>And the 2027 Tour de France Femmes avec Swift, heading to the United Kingdom for the first time, will depart from Leeds later in July and take in Manchester and Sheffield before finishing in London.<\/p>\n<p>Tour organisers announced the Grand Depart start and finish locations for both races in Leeds on Thursday, having revealed in March that Scotland, England and Wales will share six stages of one of the world\u2019s biggest free-to-watch sporting event.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/2.83070257.jpg\" alt=\"Tour de France 2027 Grand Depart\" data-title=\"CYCLING Tour\" data-copyright-holder=\"PA Graphics\" data-copyright-notice=\"PA Graphics\/Press Association Images\" data-credit=\"PA Graphics\" data-usage-terms=\"\"  \/>Tour de France 2027 Grand Depart (PA Graphics)<\/p>\n<p>It will be the first time the two races have started in the same country other than France.<\/p>\n<p>The UK will host the men\u2019s event for the fifth time \u2013 the first was in Plymouth in 1974 \u2013 and will start the race for a third time after London in 2007 and Leeds in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Tour director Christian Prudhomme said: \u201cThe UK has always welcomed the Tour with passion and pride, and the route details we are revealing reflect the beauty and diversity of Britain\u2019s terrain.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBringing both Grand Departs here is a testament to the strength of our partnership with British Cycling and the enthusiasm of the UK.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"525\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Ten host locations. It\u2019s never happened before.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve called the social impact programme Joy on purpose because the race will actually bring some joy back into life.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s an opportunity for communities to come out and support not only the riders, but take part in local activities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhether it be through old people\u2019s homes, whether it be through street parties, through schools.
