Conor Gallagher had fallen out of favour with Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone and the Spanish side sold the England international to Tottenham.<\/p>\n

A former Chelsea youth academy product, Gallagher inked a deal with Tottenham<\/a> until 2031 and Spurs parted ways with a \u00a335m transfer fee for the ex-Atletico ace.<\/p>\n

Gallagher had moved to the Metropolitano Stadium in 2024 after Premier League side Chelsea accepted a \u00a333m transfer offer from La Liga outfit Atletico.<\/p>\n

Manchester United missed out on Conor Gallagher<\/a> and the Red Devils could be dealt a further blow in their reported transfer pursuit of Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes.<\/p>\n

Joao Gomes has been linked with United<\/a> in recent months amid the Red Devils\u2019 hunt for new midfield options ahead of the summer transfer window later in 2026.<\/p>\n

According to Sky Sports<\/a>, Joao Gomes has now become a target for Atletico Madrid after Gallagher was offloaded to Tottenham in the January transfer window.<\/p>\n

Journalist Lyall Thomas on X<\/a>, formerly Twitter, reported for Sky Sports that the 24-year-old Brazilian midfielder is on the Man Utd<\/a> \u2018list\u2019 for their summer shopping spree.<\/p>\n

Atletico Madrid are not alone in their transfer interest in Man Utd target Joao Gomes<\/p>\n

Man Utd-linked Joao Gomes<\/a> is under contract with Wolves until 2030 and the Brazil international has made 113 appearances for the struggling Premier League club.<\/p>\n

The Atletico Madrid target has been at the Molineux since 2023 after he was signed from Brazilian side Flamengo for a reported \u00a315m transfer fee.<\/p>\n

Lyall Thomas claimed that Atletico have not made \u2018formal contact\u2019 with Man Utd target Gomes<\/a>, but the Brazilian is \u2018one of two top targets\u2019 for the Spanish club.<\/p>\n

It has also been added that defending Serie A champions Napoli have \u2018also had a look\u2019 at former Flamengo midfielder Gomes amid the Red Devils\u2019 transfer interest.<\/p>\n
