Thousands of young people across the\u202fUK, including in London,\u202fwill be inspired to pursue exciting and rewarding careers in aviation as the government confirms the next cohort of Aviation Ambassadors today (14 January 2026). <\/p>\n
The ambassadors are successful aviation professionals who will promote jobs, skills and training in the sector by going into schools, hosting workshops, and using social media to reach primary, secondary and college students across England. <\/p>\n
London-based Miguel (known online as \u2018The Aviation Mentor\u2019) uses social media and face-to-face engagement to promote aviation as an accessible career choice for young people. As an Aviation Ambassador, Miguel will engage with industry and colleges to promote the opportunities available in aviation and build young people\u2019s employability skills so they gain the confidence to pursue a rewarding career in the sector. <\/p>\n
New Aviation Ambassador Miguel Carbrera Vivas, said: <\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m really proud to be an Aviation Ambassador and I\u2019m looking forward to getting started.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy mission is to help build a stronger aviation industry by helping people understand it and prepare for it properly. I do this through social media, allowing me to educate and inspire thousands of people and through in-person talks and workshops, where I help both new and existing professionals build the skills they need to thrive in aviation. It means a lot to be able to give back to an industry that\u2019s shaped my own career.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAviation is full of exciting opportunities and fulfilling career paths, and we\u2019re determined to encourage more young people to see the sector as a place where they can thrive and build rewarding, long-term futures. <\/p>\n
\u201cOur Aviation Ambassadors are key to making that happen \u2013 sharing their own journeys, helping to break down barriers, and showing the sky really is the limit. By broadening horizons, we\u2019re helping to secure the future of UK aviation while delivering regional growth, jobs and skills.\u201d <\/p>\n
From airfield safety to flight operations, to piloting, customer service and emerging technologies, the Aviation Ambassador programme raises awareness of the many careers paths available to suit every skillset and every passion <\/p>\n
Among the other new ambassadors are: <\/p>\n
Former Red Arrows Chief Engineer Ross Priday from South Wales, who aims to inspire young people by sharing of his wide range of experiences and bridge the gap between aviation and aerospace careers;
Lauren Turner, who has risen through the ranks at East Midlands Airport from Security Officer to Operations Director in thirteen years, becoming a self-led aviation success story who is keen to champion apprenticeships and supported pathways into aviation;
David Gardner, a senior firefighter and medical lead for the airport\u2019s first responder scheme at Luton Airport whose \u2018hands-on\u2019, practical outreach delivery is an exciting and memorable experience for young people learning about aviation and fire safety
From ground handling and airfield safety, to\u202fcommercial flying, customer service, and aviation law, the Aviation Ambassador programme raises awareness of the breadth of career paths available to suit every skillset and every passion.\u202f\u202f <\/p>\n
Ambassadors deliver a range of outreach activities, including giving talks in colleges, supporting industry events, and promoting aviation careers through online platforms and traditional media. This engagement has reached thousands of people who may never have considered aviation as a career\u202foption, including those in underrepresented communities.\u202f <\/p>\n
The initiative is part of the\u202fGeneration Aviation programme, which sees government and industry working together to help build an aviation workforce fit for the future and attract diverse, talented people. <\/p>\n
