North London Hospice will this year celebrate the 30th anniversary of its flagship fundraising event.<\/p>\n

On\u00a0Sunday, 10th May\u00a0<\/strong>hundreds of walkers of all ages will gather for North London Hospice\u2019s latest Big Fun Walk, an iconic ten-mile route through Barnet, Camden and Westminster boroughs \u201cfilled with laughter, remembrance and purpose\u201d.<\/p>\n

Big Fun Walk is North London Hospice\u2019s flagship fundraising event, and one of their most loved by supporters. This year marks 30 years since the very first walk took place, when a group of enthusiastic participants made the journey from Finchley to Westminster on foot. To celebrate, the charity is offering special discounted ticket prices until 15th February.<\/p>\n

The very first Big Fun Walk took place on Sunday, 10th March 1996 with over 300 participants raising nearly \u00a313,000 for the hospice. The event has grown to encompass more than 1000 walkers and raises over \u00a3175,000 for North London Hospice each year.<\/p>\n

To mark the 30th\u00a0anniversary, the event has a meaningful theme this year: \u2018Every Step Holds a Story\u2019. Big Fun Walk offers a way to keep alive the memories and stories of those people we have loved and, this year, the hospice is inviting walkers to step into a world of imagination with participants encouraged to dress up as a fairytale character for the occasion.<\/p>\n

From the leafy paths of Hampstead Heath to the stunning views from Primrose Hill and into the historic heart of Westminster, each step of the Big Fun Walk \u201cechoes with stories of lives lived and love that lasts\u201d.<\/p>\n

If ten miles is too far, participants can instead join the much-loved\u00a0\u2018Little Fun Walk\u2019, a five-mile route that finishes at the top of Primrose Hill.<\/p>\n

Louise Cohen, senior events and community officer at North London Hospice, said: \u201cJoin us for the 30th\u00a0anniversary of our Big Fun Walk on 10th May. Along the way you can expect stunning views, inspiring company, and a finish line filled with music, celebration and moments that will stay with you.<\/p>\n
