British politician Nigel Farage<\/strong>, who currently sits atop the UK Reform UK party, was recently tricked into paying tribute to late Lostprophets<\/strong> vocalist Ian Watkins<\/strong> via a Cameo video request. Despite the high profile nature of Watkins<\/strong>\u2018 heinous child sex related crimes<\/a> that saw him live out the rest of his days in prison, and the recent headlines generated by his October 2025 murder in prison<\/a>, Farage<\/strong> appeared to be oblivious to the ruse.<\/p>\n

Metro<\/a> report that an individual claimed to have paid Farage<\/strong> \u00a398 on Cameo for the tribute, requesting the video under the guise of Farage<\/strong> paying tribute to a fictional Ian Watkins<\/strong>. Per an interview conducted by Metro<\/strong> with the alleged prankster, his motivations in getting the video made appear to be politically motivated to an extent, as he went on to question the integrity of Farage<\/strong> taking the money and proceeding with the video, despite some obvious red flags.<\/p>\n

The script he had Farage<\/strong> read on camera read as follows:<\/p>\n

\u201cThis message is to pay tribute to Ian Watkins<\/strong>, a good man, a really good guy who is very much in contact with me. He loved his children and will be sorely, sorely missed by them forever. He will always hold a very special place in everybody\u2019s heart.<\/p>\n

Remember what he always said \u2018Mad Lolz\u2019, well, tell ya what, that just about sum up the world doesn\u2019t it?\u2019<\/p>\n

Sorry for your grief but please try and keep some happy memories.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Watkins<\/strong> was said to have disturbingly refered to his crimes in a letter to a fan with the phrase \u2018mega lolz\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Faced with the realization of being duped, Farage<\/strong> relayed to the prankster via Metro<\/strong>, \u201cThank him for the money. There are lots of Ian Watkins. Tell him to send more. I did alter his request.\u201d<\/p>\n
