The midfielder was to travel to England for a medical with the Blues that day, but it would appear those claims jumped the gun.<\/p>\n<p>Initial claims reported Birmingham City are signing the Colombian on a permanent move for around \u20ac4-5m. <a href=\"https:\/\/sportwitness.co.uk\/birmingham-city-loaning-player-for-e500k-e8m-purchase-conditional-obligation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Claims from Spain and Colombia then said<\/a> it\u2019ll be a loan move with a conditional obligation to buy. The Championship side will have to make his stay permanent for \u20ac8m if he makes 11 league appearances.<\/p>\n<p>Girona are waiting for the player to join Birmingham City so that one non-EU slot becomes vacant. They need this to register Manchester City\u2019s Argentine attacking midfielder, Claudio Echeverri.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, the La Liga side\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/sportwitness.co.uk\/done-deal-birmingham-city-set-to-announce-signing-as-manager-confirms-transfer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">manager, M\u00edchel, confirmed<\/a> this and also said Sol\u00eds\u2019 exit is a \u201cdone deal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra took to <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/PSierraR\/status\/2011929822771986646\">X<\/a>, formerly known as Twitter, to report a short but important update.<\/p>\n<p>Sol\u00eds moved to Girona from Colombian side Atl\u00e9tico Nacional in September 2023. Now the midfielder is set to join Birmingham City.<\/p>\n<p>According to Sierra, the young midfielder has already obtained the work permit, or at least approval, to move to the UK.<\/p>\n<p>After receiving that approval, the journalist states the player will undergo medical tests with Birmingham City on Friday. Sol\u00eds will join on loan with a conditional obligation to buy set at \u20ac8m.<\/p>\n<p>The player needs to clear these examinations and sign his contract for the Championship side to announce his signing.<\/p>\n<p>Sol\u00eds has played 374 minutes from 12 La Liga matches for Girona this season.
