{"id":699689,"date":"2026-01-16T10:43:10","date_gmt":"2026-01-16T10:43:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/699689\/"},"modified":"2026-01-16T10:43:10","modified_gmt":"2026-01-16T10:43:10","slug":"australian-open-2026-madison-keys-alexander-zverev-and-coco-gauff-on-deamnds-for-greater-grand-slam-prize-money-and-welfare-benefits","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/699689\/","title":{"rendered":"Australian Open 2026: Madison Keys, Alexander Zverev and Coco Gauff on deamnds for greater Grand Slam prize money and welfare benefits"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">There are three broads areas of concern the players want addressing:<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Dialogue between the group of players &#8211; who are represented by former WTA chairman and chief executive Larry Scott &#8211; and the Grand Slam powerbrokers began almost a year ago.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">In March, the players sent a letter to the four Grand Slams asking for a meeting.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Keys, along with Aryna Sabalenka, Jannik Sinner, Alex de Minaur, Casper Ruud and Coco Gauff, met with leaders from all four Grand Slams at last year&#8217;s French Open to discuss their concerns.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">That was followed by individual meetings with each Slam at Wimbledon, attended on behalf of the players by men&#8217;s world number three Zverev and women&#8217;s semi-finalist Belinda Bencic.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The benefit of those meetings has split opinion.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Keys labelled them &#8220;the most productive conversations we&#8217;ve ever had&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;[That] leads me to be carefully optimistic for the future,&#8221; the American world number nine said on Friday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;But I really think it&#8217;s in everyone&#8217;s best interest to continue to be really good partners to each other. We all need each other.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;We all want to try to do whatever we can to support each other.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Zverev does not share that confidence.
