{"id":699895,"date":"2026-01-16T12:49:11","date_gmt":"2026-01-16T12:49:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/699895\/"},"modified":"2026-01-16T12:49:11","modified_gmt":"2026-01-16T12:49:11","slug":"us-ship-involved-in-tanker-seizure-berthed-in-aberdeen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/699895\/","title":{"rendered":"US ship involved in tanker seizure berthed in Aberdeen"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\"><b class=\"ssrcss-1xjjfut-BoldText e5tfeyi3\">A US Coast Guard ship involved the seizure operation of a Russian flagged oil tanker is now berthed in Aberdeen.<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The US accused the Marinera of breaking its sanctions by carrying oil for Venezuela, Russia and Iran.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The ship, previously known as Bella 1, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/articles\/c5y2v8ngl14o\" class=\"ssrcss-f6h2dj-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">was boarded while south of Iceland<\/a> last week in an operation supported by British armed forces.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">It has since been sitting in the Moray Firth, with a US Coast Guard ship and tugs next to it.
