Every three years the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code\u00a0is released as new minimum safety requirements for buildings and structures evolve. These requirements must be complied with when constructing a new building, structure or addition to an existing building.<\/p>\n Building permit applicants can use the 2018 VUSBC until Jan. 17, 2025. After that date, all new building permit applications and construction must meet the 2021 VUSBC requirements.
