Explore royal or historic sites, tick off landmarks from your bucket list, eat and drink in exclusive Michelin-starred <a href=\"https:\/\/www.standard.co.uk\/topic\/restaurants\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">restaurants<\/a>, enjoy a pint in a traditional <a href=\"https:\/\/www.standard.co.uk\/topic\/pub\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pub<\/a>, or get lost down winding cobbled streets and see what you stumble across \u2013 the possibilities are endless.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/22-apr-js-out 09.jpg\" width=\"5568\" height=\"3712\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"sc-eqUAAy kRUyJB\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Jeremy Selwyn<\/p>\n<p>Called the Travellers\u2019 Choice Awards, the largely unregulated website said it used 12 months of data from online reviewers to compile its latest \u201cbest of the best\u201d list. <\/p>\n<p>TripAdvisor claimed to have received eight million listings in 2025 and used its community\u2019s \u201cabove-and-beyond reviews and opinions\u201d to quantify the top 10.  According to the TripAdvisor website: \u201cThe Travellers\u2019 Choice Awards Best of the Best title celebrates the highest level of excellence in travel. It\u2019s awarded to those who receive a high volume of above-and-beyond reviews and opinions from the Tripadvisor community over a 12-month period. Out of our 8 million listings, fewer than 1 per cent achieve this milestone. \u201c <\/p>\n<p>Whatever the soft metrics, the accolade is a good one for London, which \u2014 much like the rest of Britain \u2014 is still often derided for its food culture.<\/p>\n<p>On social media, diners from the likes of France and the US are quick to dismiss traditional British staples such as roast beef and fish and chips. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.standard.co.uk\/topic\/paris\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Paris<\/a> came in at number five on the list, while no US city made the top 10.
