Emergency services were called to Stronend Street in Possilpark after they were alerted to the blaze at around 2.35pm.<\/p>\n

Police Scotland has confirmed it is treating a taxi fire as “wilful” after a black cab was torched in Glasgow<\/a> on Thursday (January 15). Emergency services were called to Stronend Street in Possilpark after they were alerted to the blaze at around 2.35pm.<\/p>\n

Dramatic photos taken from the scene showed flames engulfing the vehicle, the Daily Record<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n

Smoke could be seen billowing out of the taxi’s windows in a plume which dwarfed surrounding buildings. The cab, which appeared to be parked at the side of the road, had scorch marks visible on its doors and roof as a result of the flames<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The vehicle’s windows had also been blown out or melted under the heat of the blaze.<\/p>\n

Officers from Police Scotland<\/a> have now confirmed they believe the fire was started deliberately. Their enquiries remain ongoing.<\/p>\n

No injures have been reported as a result of the vehicle fire.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Around 2.35pm on Thursday, 15 January, 2026, we received a report of vehicle fire at Stronend Street, Possilpark.<\/p>\n

“There were no reported injuries.
